ABOUT US

THE FOUNDER

Hi I’m Paul

Having worked for 6 years at Woolworths on the buying team I wanted to experience the other side of the fence. I became a textile agent supplying top fabrics to major retailers in Southern Africa. This is how my passion began and SK Textiles was born…..

OUR STORY

SK Textiles is a progressive fabric wholesaler established over 20 years ago. We began by supplying fabrics to major fashion retailers, namely Foschini, Woolworths, Truworths and YDE. Over the years we have extended our supply to boutiques, online stores and small emerging brands. We work closely with our sister company ‘Texlink’ where we benefit from the great synergy in sourcing the latest fabrics. We have an experienced sales and management team offering a wealth of knowledge acquired through many years in the textiles industry.

SK Textiles offers a wide range of fabrics suitable for various types of apparel. This includes fabrics for ladies’, mens’ and kidswear. Alongside keeping up with the latest trends, we always strive to find the ‘new perfect classic’. Our warehouse, based in Cape Town, is consistently well stocked to service both account and walk in customers. Our fabric store is open to the public attracting customers who wish to buy small or large meterage at wholesale prices.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our values and ethics are reflected in our long-standing relationships with our suppliers, customers and most importantly our staff. “Great and affordable quality fabrics”. We do not favour customer size, and work on everyday low pricing for customers big and small. Our friendly staff in our shop staff deliver efficient service sharing their fabric recommendations and advice to walk in customers.

As a part of our Corporate Social responsibility, we believe in giving back to society by supporting our chosen charity, the ‘Amy foundation’. They are a sewing training initiative upskilling the community from ages between 5 – 35 years who come from challenged backgrounds.

SOURCING

We have a particularly experienced team who travel abroad to source and discern for new suppliers whilst maintaining our existing longstanding relationships. They travel the globe visiting world class trade shows in order to capture the latest trends which we then distribute locally.

Our products are responsibly sourced and we incorporate sustainable products into our range as they become available. We source organic Bamboo which is eco-certified, and waterless dyed Viscose Lycra aiming to reduce our carbon footprint. We are on the mission to continue sustainable sourcing.
